Planning and preparing the big birthday party is quite the challenge for a parent.
This mother of two knows all about the preparation, but little did she know it would all be for nothing. Rachelle Briannan had planned her sons Taenon’s birthday. He was turning four and the big party was here. Twelve children would soon show up and the birthday would be underway.
Except none of the 12 kids showed. Rachel was shocked, not to mention devastated as her son now had no party because no one showed up.
She let out her frustration to Facebook, stating how sad she was at letting down her son.
The message was posted to the Midnight Mums Facebook group, which is a group on Facebook consisting of mothers in and around Melbourne, Australia. Really she just wanted any advice on how to make it up to her son. She didn’t expect the response she got.
Turns out all the moms in the group rallied together. Hundreds of birthday wishes came swarming in for Taenon. The following message was posted:
“The Midnight Mums community rallied together online with hundreds of birthday wishes for Taenon flooding our newsfeeds and touching the hearts of our members with this feel good story right across Australia and beyond.”
Then, all of a sudden, Taenon was joined up with more than double the amount of original kids that were supposed to show. Thirty kids who he had never met before, all showed up at a local McDonald’s, bringing him balloons and gifts!
On top of that, Taenon was greeted by The Nillumbuk SES who brought their own fire truck to the party!
Wow! Really amazing how strangers can band together to help out a mom who has a little boy that didn’t get the birthday party that she promised him. Good job to all!
