It happened inside a Target in Boston and this 17-year-old is being called a hero due to his quick actions. The boy stood up to a pervert who was all dialed in to potentially molest a little girl in the store.
Cameron and his mom Heather Cook were shopping at the Target. The sick perv was targeting the girl and Cameron was aware enough to realize what was going on. He then proceeded to save the girl from the unthinkable.
The mother even realized that something was not right with this guy:
“I was close enough that I could smell the liquor coming from his mouth. It was horrible.”
The man suddenly pushed his body right into the young girl and that’s when Cameron sprung into action.
“So I went up to him, I was like, ‘Excuse me sir, do you know her?’ And then the first thing he said was, ‘I’m not a pervert, I’m not a pervert.’ I was like, I didn’t ask you that sir,” Cameron said.
His mom comments just how brave her son really was:
“He was big, and Cameron had no fear at all. He just stood firm on the fact that he knew what this man was doing was wrong.”
Cameron then ordered the man to leave, which he did but then man was also cursing and talking to himself under his breath, clearly mad that he had been busted.
Again, the mother on how proud she is of her brave son’s actions:
“I’m very proud of him, but it’s totally within his character. He’s not afraid to do what’s right.”
The store manager would end up turning surveillance footage of the man and the incident over to police. The manager called Cameron and his mother to let them know that the police now had footage of the man, and hopefully can identify him in the future.
Cameron recognizes how things could have been very different if they weren’t there in the store that day:
“I’m just happy I was there to protect her. Because you never know what could have went on.”
