Sometimes in the lottery of life, one is lucky in some respects and unlucky in others. On the surface, it would seem that Lindsay Cochran was given quite a heavy burden to bear. She suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic condition of the nervous system that affects her ability to use her muscles. There is no cure for the disorder and she has been confined to a wheelchair since she was a toddler. She requires assistance to perform what others would consider basic functions such a picking up a dropped object, turning on the lights, or ringing a doorbell. But while these challenges are nothing to envy, Lindsay has one pretty incredible champion in her corner: her brother Trenton.

Thanks to Trenton, Lindsay’s life is much easier. And he seems to think she is pretty special. We'd have to agree.
If you're interested in supporting kids like Lindsay, the Muscular Dystrophy Association helps families who are affected by this or related diseases and raises funds for medical research.
