It’s one teenager’s love for his grandpa that’s changing lives of millions of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and their families. Up to 60% of the Americans living with this disease wonder off at some point, so this smart kid invented and is currently testing a mobile app that warns the families or the nursing staff when someone gets up at night.
It’s a pressure sensor that the patient wears on the bottom of their socks that sets off a discreet alarm when it’s activated. We need more kids like this, not only smart but thoughtful and who cares for the elderly.
