Who’s going to pay for the wall? It’s a $12-$15 billion project and everyone has been trying to figure out how in the world it’s going to get paid. It seemed unlikely that Mexico was going to come up with that kind of dough to build a wall for the U.S. But due to an ironic circumstance, it looks like the wall can be paid for. And in a round about way, a certain element of Mexico could indeed pay for it!
Turns out the dough is already there. The permission to use it is the only issue. It is Ted Cruz, Trump’s fierce opponent whom he often called “Lyin’ Ted”, who has come up with the perfect solution.
Here’s what Breitbart reported on the Ted Cruz solution:
“Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill calling for the use of $14 billion seized from cartel drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman to be used to pay for the President’s border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.”
Wow! Definitely makes sense, right? Turn that money around and use it to protect our country! Chapo benefitted big time from an open border. Now let’s use his riches to close it up and stop the flow of drugs.
Here’s what brilliant Ted had to say:
“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border. Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities.”
eeing as the flow of crime and drug traffic into the U.S. would be slowed with better border security, it makes sense to use El Chapo’s revenue to, as Cruz says, “offset the wall’s cost and make meaningful progress toward achieving President Trump’s stated border security objectives.”
It’s called the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) bill and it was introduced by Ted on Tuesday. Hopefully it will get the conservative support it deserves.
Here’s more from Cruz:
“The U.S. Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering.”
Here’s what Breitbart Texas’ Ildefonso Ortiz reported:
“As part of the agreement with Mexico, Guzman will not face the death penalty in the U.S. for his crimes.”
Spending a lifetime locked up, watching his riches go towards a wall for the U.S., would probably be worse than the death penalty anyway.
El Chapo’s cartel is no doubt still active and still breaching the border with an influx of drugs. So it would be right to shut down their operation with a border wall by using their bosses money!
